In the Milliy sertifikat (National Certificate) test, tasks are not all worth the same: an easy task gives fewer points and a hard one gives more. Each subject adds up to 100 raw points, which are converted to a 75-point scale and a grade from A+ to C. Below we explain, based on the official sample tasks and specifications, how the points add up and how they turn into a grade.
Raw points and the 75-point scale
The test in each subject adds up to 100 raw points, with tasks of different weights. The final result is converted to a 75-point scale using the Rasch model, so the certificate shows a scaled score, not the raw points.
No points are taken off for a wrong answer. So even when you do not know the answer, it is better not to leave the task blank.
Math, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
In the official samples all four subjects share the same structure: 45 tasks, 150 minutes.
| Tasks | Type | Points |
|---|---|---|
| 1-35 (10 of them) | Single-answer test, easy | 1.3 |
| 1-35 (25 of them) | Single-answer test, medium | 2.2 |
| 36-45 | Open: parts a) and b) | 1.5 + 1.7 |
- Easy and medium tasks do not go from easy to hard; they are mixed by topic.
- Parts a) and b) of an open task are marked separately: if only a) is right, you still get 1.5 points.
- Total: 10 × 1.3 + 25 × 2.2 + 10 × (1.5 + 1.7) = 13 + 55 + 32 = 100 raw points.
Native Language and Literature
- 1-35: single-answer test, tasks worth 1.1, 1.7 or 2.5 points.
- 36-44: tasks where the answer is written as a word (some with a/b parts).
- 45: essay - 24 points. It needs an introduction, a body of at least three paragraphs and a conclusion; no plan or epigraph is written.
History
According to the specification of the Knowledge and Skills Assessment Agency: 45 tasks, 90 minutes.
- 1-32: single-answer test, 1.3, 2.2 or 3.2 points depending on difficulty.
- 33-35: matching, 2.2 points each.
- 36-45: open a/b tasks - 1.1 + 1.1, or 1.5 + 1.7 for the harder ones.
Grades: from A+ to C
Below 46 points no certificate is issued. Benefits for university admission depend on the grade: check the exact rules in the official announcements every year.
| Grade | Score (out of 75) |
|---|---|
| A+ | 70 and above |
| A | 65 - 69.9 |
| B+ | 60 - 64.9 |
| B | 55 - 59.9 |
| C+ | 50 - 54.9 |
| C | 46 - 49.9 |
How Trylab calculates your result
Trylab papers follow the structure and points of the official sample. Your raw points are converted to the 75-point scale linearly, and your grade is shown. This is an estimate: the official result is calculated with the Rasch model across everyone who sat the exam.
