To prepare for the DTM in 6 months, split your time by each block's share of the points: the first major subject gives 93 of 189 points (49 %), the second 63 (33 %), the compulsory subjects 33 (17 %). Month 1 is diagnosis and choosing your block, months 2-4 are deep work by topic, month 5 is timed mocks and month 6 is revision and exam mode. Below are the month-by-month table, a weekly routine and how to track progress.
How to split your time: the point shares
This is a starting split. After the diagnostic test, adjust it: put more time where you lose the most points.
| Block | Maximum | Share | Suggested time |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1st major subject | 93 | 49 % | about half |
| 2nd major subject | 63 | 33 % | about a third |
| Compulsory subjects | 33 | 17 % | the rest (15-20 %) |
Month-by-month table
| Month | Main goal | What you do | Check test |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Diagnosis and block | Fix your programme and subject pair, take a 90-question mock, list weak topics, start the basics of the 1st subject | 1 full mock (at the start) |
| 2 | 1st subject: core topics | The most common topics of the 1st subject, problems every day, short compulsory revision | A 1st-subject test (30 questions) every week |
| 3 | 1st + 2nd subject | Hard topics of the 1st subject, core topics of the 2nd | A subject-pair test (60 questions) every week |
| 4 | 2nd subject and compulsory block | Strengthen the 2nd subject, a weekly 30-question compulsory test | A full mock every two weeks |
| 5 | Real format | Full mocks in real time (180 minutes), mistake notebook, timing strategy | A full mock every week |
| 6 | Revision and exam mode | No new topics - mistake notebook, final mocks, rest | 1-2 mocks a week, light revision in the last week |
Month 1: diagnosis comes first
- In week one, fix your programme and block - the other 5 months depend on it.
- Take the full 90-question mock in real time. That is your starting score.
- Write down each block's score separately: for example, compulsory 22, 1st subject 40, 2nd subject 30.
- Group your mistakes by topic - that is your topic list for the next six months.
- Set a target and divide the gap by month: from 95 to 150 you need about 9-10 points of growth a month.
Months 2-4: deep work by topic
- One main topic a day: theory, then 15-20 problems.
- Two or three days after a topic, redo your mistakes - spaced repetition makes it stick.
- At the end of the week, take a test on that week's topics.
- Do not drop the compulsory subjects: even 15-20 minutes a day is enough.
- At the end of each month take a full mock and compare with your month-1 score.
Months 5-6: exam mode
- Take mocks at exam hours: 90 questions, 180 minutes, no phone, no break.
- Timing strategy: 40-45 minutes for the compulsory block, the rest for the major subjects; mark a hard question and move on.
- After each mock, sort mistakes into 3 kinds: did not know, rushed, misread the question.
- In the last 2 weeks learn nothing new: only the mistake notebook and questions you have already solved.
- The day before the exam: light revision and a good night's sleep, no new tests.
A weekly routine (example)
| Day | Main work (1.5-2 hours) | Extra (20-30 minutes) |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | 1st subject: new topic | Native language |
| Tuesday | 2nd subject: new topic | Maths (compulsory) |
| Wednesday | 1st subject: problems | History of Uzbekistan |
| Thursday | 2nd subject: problems | Mistake notebook |
| Friday | 1st subject: hard problems | Native language |
| Saturday | Test (subject, pair or full mock) | Review the test's mistakes |
| Sunday | Rest or light revision | - |
How to track progress
- After every test, log the score by block - watch which block grows, not just the total.
- If two mocks in a row give the same score, change the method: more problems or a different source.
- The number of questions in your mistake notebook should keep falling - the clearest sign of progress.
- Follow the exam date in the announcements on uzbmb.uz and build the six-month plan backwards from it.
How to follow the plan on Trylab
Trylab's DTM tests match every stage of the plan: one subject (30 questions, 60 minutes), a subject pair (60 questions, 120 minutes), the compulsory block (30 questions, 60 minutes) and the full mock (90 questions, 180 minutes). Every question is explained, the score is shown on the 189-point scale straight away, and wrong answers go into your mistake notebook - a ready list for revision in month 6.
Frequently asked questions
- Are 6 months enough? Yes, if you study 2-3 hours every day and fix your block in month one. If your starting score is low, stretch the plan to 8-9 months.
- How much should I study a day? 2-2.5 hours on weekdays and 3-4 hours on Saturday for a test and its review - as in the table.
- How often should I take a full mock? 1-2 times a month in months 1-4 and 1-2 times a week in months 5-6. Give each review at least an hour.
- Can I prepare without a tutor? Yes, if you review your mistakes: that is what explained tests and a mistake notebook are for.
