Preparation tips
- 01
Start with Task 2 - it counts more towards your Writing band.
- 02
Write an overview in Task 1 - without one, it's hard to get above 6.0.
- 03
One main idea and a concrete example in every paragraph.
- 04
Watch the word count: writing too little lowers Task Response.
- 05
Don't repeat the same words - use synonyms and natural collocations.

FAQ
How is Writing marked?
Each of the four criteria gets a band and they are averaged. On Pro and Max, AI marks it against the public IELTS criteria; on other plans you get an estimate from text analysis.
How close is it to an official score?
Writing scores are estimates - they don't guarantee an official result, but they show exactly which criterion holds you back.
Can I take Task 1 and Task 2 separately?
Yes. Both are available as separate practice tests; in a full mock they come one after the other.
